Hotel San Marco in Lannach near Graz
authentic, down-to-earth, family-run
A place in the Styrian wine region where honest relationships matter.
Where guests don’t just stay overnight, but become part of the small San Marco family – with trust, reliability, and a sense of belonging.
A House with Character
Hotel San Marco is a place for everyone on the go – whether for business, in transit, or on a motorcycle tour – who still values a good feeling.
For us, it’s not just about staying overnight, but about the good feeling of being welcome.
About closeness that isn’t intrusive. About trust you feel even before entering a room. That’s what defines us.
Why We Do What We Do
Sometimes you don’t find your calling – your calling finds you.
I came to the hotel business rather by chance, but it quickly became clear: this is my passion.
I never just wanted to run a hotel.
It was always about creating a place where people feel comfortable – not because everything is perfectly polished, but because it’s genuinely meant.

For me, what matters is authenticity – the brief conversation, an honest smile, and the feeling of being welcome.
Astrid Schaffler – Hostess at Hotel San Marco
Together with a small, dedicated team, we embody warmth, reliability, and that little piece of home you feel as soon as you arrive.
Sustainability is a matter of course for us – mindful in dealing with people, resources, and what endures.
Our house stands for warmth instead of luxury and for hospitality you can feel.
And when guests say goodbye:
“I’ll be back – simply because I had a good time here,”
then we know we’ve done everything right.
Because guests become friends.

The Heart of the House – Hostess Astrid Schaffler with her Daughter
Astrid Schaffler manages the San Marco with heart, reliability, and a keen sense for people.
She is a hostess by conviction – attentive, down-to-earth, and always close to her guests.
Her daughter brings fresh energy to the house and, like her mother, stands for what makes San Marco special: warmth, trust, and a genuine welcome.
“A guest once said: I travel a lot for work, but here it almost feels like home. That’s the best compliment for me.“
Such encounters mean more to me than any review, says hostess Astrid.
Because at San Marco, it’s not about numbers, but about people who are on the go – and arrive here.
I am delighted for everyone who takes this moment with them – and perhaps keeps a piece of it.

Managing Director Hotel San Marco, Lannach
Here in Western Styria, at the gateway to the Schilcher wine region, not far from Graz and the Lipizzaner region, we want to show:
Hospitality is not a concept, but our passion – and thus our attitude. And that’s exactly what we live every day here.
Our Team – well-coordinated, friendly, authentic
For us, teamwork matters – everyone knows what’s important.
Whether at the reception, during breakfast, or in housekeeping – everyone on the team contributes to ensuring everything runs smoothly.
We believe that genuine service has nothing to do with routine, but with a joy for people.
- Fast check-in even in the evening
- Breakfast from 6:30 AM for early risers
- Clean rooms you can rely on
Because sometimes not much is needed – except people who love their job.
Why Guests Become Friends at San Marco
What matters to us is not a quick booking, but a lasting relationship.
Many say: “With you, it feels like being with friends – just with better coffee.” That’s no coincidence, but our philosophy.
